Pot Fest in the Pens was the original Potters Market in the UK and was established in 1994 – 30 years ago.
It is a real opportunity to see the work of well-established artists alongside the newbies. It is a real mix of established artists and the next generation. There is no arty hype, no gallery glamor, just potters and public mixing in a unique space. It is held every year at Skirsgill Auction Mart, Penrith.
Last year I was honoured to be awarded a place at Pot Fest in the Pens. This exhibition brings together hundreds of different potters from all over the country to exhibit under one roof. It is a great opportunity for ceramicists who are new to exhibiting to step up and become a part of a larger community of artists.
As a new potter I was warmly welcomed into the family by the other potters and the organising crew.
It was a fun weekend and a great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping. It is also a place to find that ‘special’ something with so many beautiful handcrafted pieces.
I am very excited to have been selected to exhibit again in October 2024. Hope to see you there.
